Big Boy

BUXTON just celebrated his second birthday on June 9th. And if you ask him, he'll be glad to tell you that he's two now and his name is Buxton. We had a little party for him a month early while Daddy was home (for his two week R&R). Buxton is quite a character. He is known for his facial expressions. Even if you can't understand all those words flowing out of that little mouth (only Matthew and I do) you'll be able to understand what he's saying by reading that adorable face! And let me tell you, he makes sure you understand. Buxton has that 'mommy gene' in him. Probably from spending way too much one on one time with boring me! He can be quite bossy, loves to help clean, do dishes, and help with Sissy tasks. He also enjoys telling her, and everyone else, NO! Which is something we will spend much time correcting. Our little man is proof of the 'terrible twos!' Which happened to come at the same time Daddy left again. He suddenly turned into a very mischievous one. He has learned the boundaries, and has crossed them! Even when he's up to no good, he is very affectionate towards Sissy. He loves to hold her, tickle her, feed her, and get right in her face to make her laugh. He does the cutest little 'hoo' sound that she finds hysterical, but only when he does it. I've spent too much time making silly sounds at that girl, all she wants is Big Brother! With that said, over the last few days, he has apparently realized Sissy is here for the long haul, and well, he's not too sure about that! He's been a little thief! He doesn't want her to play with any toys, nor to be in my arms. He throws a fit when I have to sit down to feed her. He often times tells me to put her in the jumper! Naughty! He makes sure he has a 'cooler' toy. So if she has one that makes noise or lights up and he doesn't, he trades! Buxton still loves learning. Any organized activity, he's game. He is very fascinated with the ABC, and in no time, he learned them all. He turns every experience into a learning one and makes it easy to teach him. Learning aside, Buxton can be quite a BOY. He spend much of his time outside under the Texas sun playing with his many adventures, from the sandbox to the pool to the slide. He thinks it's real fun to chase bees and bring Mommy bug! I am waiting for the day he brings me a snake!

Shortly before his 2nd birthday, we began the potty training process. He has done wonderful! That isn't to say he doesn't have accidence, but the progress he's made in such a short period of time is awesome!
