Our Getaway Trip - Part 3

Our final day in San Antonio was spent at the zoo. When you put our children and animals together, nothing can go wrong. Buxton was so excited to see the alligators and tigers. He was our little navigator too, reading the map pointing us in the right direction. Brayleighs favorite part about the zoo was the snakes and of course the snow cone. She's more 'go with the flow' kind of personality, unlike her brother.

Our Getaway Trip - Part 2

The Rainforest Cafe down on the Riverwalk was the highlight of our trip. I have NEVER seen Buxton this excited before, he couldn't help but smile. When the monkeys, elephants, and snakes would move or talk, he would shout with excitement. This experience was totally worth the over priced meal!

After dinner comes dessert, ice cream at 31 Flavors. The kids didn't care about having 31 flavors to choose from, they just wanted those clowns, regardless of what flavor ice cream was inside.

Buxton loved staying in the hotel. He thought it was the coolest thing. The kids and baby Stella are enjoying breakfast before we head out for our big day.

Our Getaway Trip - Part 1

To get out of the funk due to our upcoming deployment, we took a little vacation for ourselves. It was wonderful not thinking about our little 4 weeks left together, we had true, fun family time. Down south for some Rainforest cafe, Riverwalk, Sea World and San Antonio Zoo!

The kids had a BLAST at Sea World. We arrived the minute they opened, didn't leave until they closed and still didn't get to see everything.

We met up with some Army friends at Sea World. Their baby girl was Brayleigh's favorite part of the day.

Buxton was so excited to ride the Shamu rollercoaster, this time he got to ride it with his new friend Sean.

This is the only ride my tummy could handle, yes it's a kiddy ride. Every since I had my babies, my tummy (and nerves) can't handle the rides.

Buxton's absolute favorite part of the day was the wave pool. He wanted to stay there all day. He was such a happy boy.

Buckaroo is Grandpa's nickname for Buxton.

A Surprise from Daddy

Matthew surprised the kids with a trampoline this past weekend. It's something Matthew and the kids have wanted for a while now. We know how important it is to keep the kids busy while Daddy's deployed. We had the neighborhood kids over and put the sprinkler underneath the trampoline, the kids when nuts! This specific trampoline doesn't have springs, its a band system that allows for a controlled bounce. The kids don't over bounce themselves. It's fantastic. They are literally in it any extra minute they have.

Austin Children's Museum

After much anticipation, we made the journey to the Austin Children's Museum. Buxton had been counting down the days. It was a building completely kid friendly, there wasn't anywhere they couldn't go or anything they couldn't do. Matthew and I just followed the kids, usually in two different directions, as the ran through learning new things and testing new toys. We look forward to returning to the museum in September when they open their Dinosaur exhibit.

This level was filled with ramps and mazes for golf balls. The kids loved it.

We had a chance to make something out of recycled products. Daddy and Buxton made "googgly eyes" and Mommy made a... hat?!

We all made cars and raced them down the ramp, Buxton's car was the fastest.
