I Have An Amazing Family

On Thursday morning, I was presented with the opportunity to show my two businesses at a local Kid Expo Friday and Saturday. That's right, one day to prepare. This was a huge opportunity for BB Bow-tique as well as BB Cakes, how could I pass it up?! Very shortly after this opportunity presented itself, I get a call from the nurse at school. Buxton has a temperature of 102 and needs to be picked you. Poor kid. Matthew left last Monday for two weeks in the field, so staying home with Daddy wasn't an option. Now what do I do about the Expo? I've already passed up two previous opportunities like this for BB, I was extremely flustered with the thought of having to turn it down. How can I go with a sick baby? Knowing I had no one to call on for a full day of babysitting for healthy kids, I definitely didn't have anyone to call on for a sick one. On my way to get Buxton, I called my Mom, explaining to her the sticky situation. Without any hesitation she bought a plane ticket down here for the weekend. Does it get any better then that? Could I have asked for a better Mom?! My parents are wonderful people, selfless serving people. I am so blessed to have them. Mom flew in Friday night (the soonest she could), I missed the Expo that night, but was able to stay all day Saturday. I passed out a whole box of business cards and sold tons of BB Bow-tique product. I am so grateful!!! The day was an over all success. I came home, extremely tired, to my 'feeling better' boy and precious girl hanging out front with Grandma. They enjoyed their time together. We saw Mom off on Sunday, she is already missed.

Dessert

Lemon cake with fresh blueberries, lemon butter cream icing, and garnished with fresh blueberries and lemon twists. The "Brandon" cake was an order through BB Cakes for a baby shower. Simple cake.

BBQ Party

We enjoyed our family time together out doors at a Hawkins BBQ. The kids had a blast with their first kite flying experience.

Spice Cake

I had a request for a Spice cake birthday cake. This cake was absolutely delicious! I made spice cake with a burnt butter cream frosting. YUM!

Hawaiian Cake

My new favorite cake! Matthew and I had a blast working on this cake. This is a red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream.

Routine!

This is after she went to the time-out chair for being naughty at the dinner table. Matthew is a softy with his baby girl! Does it look like he's telling her she's in trouble?! Brayleigh is fixing the not-so broken door with a not-so real screw driver!

Buxton asked us to hold his baby sissy and take a picture. It was precious.

He is working on the whole pedaling concept.

Things have settled into routine here at the Harrison house. We are all busy, busy, BUSY! And loving it.

Matthew update- After being incredible sick and trapped in bed, he is feeling tons better, busy with changes at work, as well as working on a possible unit change! We are believe God for the right moves to come!

Buxton update- We are all so proud of Buxton. He is doing absolutely amazing in school. He has adjusted to the new schedule and really enjoys his time at school. We love his teacher, Mrs. Wright and feel so bless God has place them together. I am going to blog more about school later!

Brayleigh Ann update- She is just loving being an "only child" from 730-3 everyday! We are enjoying the Mommy and me time, we've never had, she is a blast to run around with. Brayleigh is learning so many new things, talking more, and with all this comes the sass! Something about having Mommy to herself, she is so naughty!

Mommy update- I am so busy. I remember being terrified of getting bored with Buxton in school. Totally the opposite. Somehow I have more to do and less time to do it. By the time I drop him off for school, I've only got X amount of hours before Brayleighs nap and then its time to pick him up, dinner, bath and bed time! AH!!! I am truly loving every minute of it though. Each moment is a thrill, with the exception of the earlier mornings! BB Bow-tique and BB Cakes are keeping me busy as well, they are such fun businesses to have. I am currently working on my display in the boutique as well as my new website!

Routine?

Oh how excited I was to form a routine with Buxton in school. It was great... for two days. Friday Brayleigh had a fever and Matthew came home from work and immediately went to bed. They spent Saturday being lazy, getting healthy. Luckily it was just a 24 hours bug. Buxton and I went on a date to the pool and had a blast. I sure do miss my boy when he's at school. Then Sunday after church, Buxton gets a fever and doesn't move from the couch. He was up all night with a fever and a headache. We kept him home from school Monday. By the end of the day, he was doing great. We made the decision to take him to school on Tuesday. He was kicking and screaming not to go. So sad. About 30 seconds after I picked him up from school, as his teaching is telling me how great he did that day, he vomits. He continued to vomit and complain of a headache and have a fever for the rest of the evening. Here we are Wednesday morning, no school, no vomit, no fever, NO ROUTINE. He is still ill but on the road to recovery. He'll spend today on the couch, resting for school tomorrow! ROUTINE!
