They finally e-mailed us the professional pictures that were taken during the Warrior Dash. I am so bummed I was unable to run the race with Matthew, I had a BB Cake order that day. We are looking forward to doing the next race together!

Krispy Kreme

We have to travel to Austin for Matthew's back appointments, although it's a killer on gas, we enjoy exploring the capital of Texas. After his latest back injection, we took the kids on a special, much anticipated, date to Krispy Kreme. Buxton had been waiting all day, he was a little cranky by the time we'd made it there, but still thought it was so cool. He also requested that he got a donut BEFORE it went threw the glaze waterfall. Strange kid! Brayleigh was amazed with the conveyor belt, but more interested in the treat! She loves sweets!

1/8 Cav. Family Day

Matthew's battalion had their [mandatory] family day at Copperas Cove city park. Hutch was most definitely included in our family day! The kids enjoyed having endless time in the Shrek bounce house. Matthew played in the Alpha company baseball game, and won the championship. I loved watching him play, when the kids would sit still long enough for me to see anything. The highlight of the morning was certainly exploring inside the Humvee and Bradley vehicles used by SGT Harrison's soldiers overseas. I was extremely impressed with how advanced the Bradley's were and how incredibly cramped it was in there.

Warrior Dash 2010

So my buddy comes to me saying "hey, Warrior Dash..." and I just think "oh no, another boring ol thing the Army has just placed the word warrior in front of". Oh was I wrong. It was a massive mud race full of fire, rope obstacles, crazy obstacles, creek runs and of course....mud pits - none of which had anything to do with the Army. Every half hour a heat of around 500 people took off running in all sorts of crazy, crazy costumes prepared to get wet, dirty and exhausted. It was amazing. I of course ran the 5K in my FiveFingers....if you don't know then Google. Above we have a before and after picture.

The last obstacle was a 50' long mud pit with ropes over the top which caused you to low crawl through. It wasn't just a muddy pit, it looked like poop soup. It felt VERY good after the obstacle just before it which were two fire pits with 4' high flames that you were forced to jump through. MAN ALIVE it was fun. Warriordash.com has all the info. She's a bully. We are getting increased reports that our sweet little infallible angel is hitting in daycare. Nope, I don't believe it either. Look at that precious ponytail...that is NOT the ponytail of a hitter. Don't you see her in her little pink outfit with her precious fluffy boots...oh my goodness sakes. For those of you who have the blessing of seeing her over Christmas...lucky you and...you're welcome. If you happen to get one of her little "Love pats"...I dare you to not smile at the sassy face she is undoubtedly shooting you at the same time....

Great Wolf Lodge

The chaplain's team does a marriage/family retreat every so often and it's usually to some place very, very cool. Well this time it was 3 days at the Great Wolf Lodge. If you aren't familiar then again...Google. The skinny is that it's a massive hotel with a waterpark inside. The whole place is a bonanza of kids fun. We have never seen Buxton so happy and have SO much fun. He was such a big kid running around the water tree fort and going down slides and tackling waves in the wave pool. He had a smile the whole time. It gave us opportunity to give him some space to show us he has a bit of responsibility in him and it has worked wonders ever since. He has been doing amazing at church and school, looking out for his sister and everything else a big boy does. Chelse and I are so proud of him.
